Default Could you tell me what my actual model is please?

Looking at the other thread about 'registered as an N, but doesn't feel like it', and after reading Simons link to the different model numbers etc, I've got a few queries of my own if you don't mind my picking your brains?

I've bought a M registered car Cat 3 which came with no documentation.

The model is GC8BJK8D and the engine is EJ20GNW1HD.

I can see that there are plenty of GC8XXXXX, but not one with a K in it, so would anyone know what this actually is, and with regard to the engine could anyone tell me if this would be a closed block engine and likely to be the 210 standard Turbo or the 240 WRX version please?

Sadly it doesn't as there is no GC8BK8D's listed. All the cars start GC8, and then they tend to go B4 or something like that. There are no cars which have the letter 'K' in them!

From memory (and it's a really sketchy memory at the moment) i belive the 'K' means right hand drive.

According to Steve's Eta Tauri Site - UK Model codes your engine type is the same as a MY94 UK-spec 5 door, and the GC8B part implies a MY94 saloon. So, although I've not managed to find an exact match, it looks like a '94 UK spec car which will be 208 bhp.

I think that we've got to the bottom of it now and it is simply a 1994 UK Turbo with 208hp as AndyC_772 says, but thanks to all for pointing me in the right direction.

The reason I don't have any docs is that because the car was written of as a Cat C, you have to start again! Although it does have a registration plate on it, I'm not too sure if you keep the number anyway, but I'm not too fussed as we are just using it as a donor vehicle for a rally car
