I'm looking at buying a Hawk Eye Spec C over the next month or so, I know Litchfields import them, however this time cost will be a big factor.

I know some have purchased cars for a company called PCM with whom I have had initial taks with re bringing on in and they are certainly cheapr. If anyone wishes to chare their expeiences both good or bad (bad by PM please this is not a this dealer is shocking thread) this would help.

Plus are there any other dealers of Spe C's out there.

he certainly seems to be cheaper than Litchfields.

I have met 'Immy' once at the Smacs rolling road day and he seems good stuff, anyone who chucks me the keys to an almost brand new Spec C is alright in my book.

never bought from him but i know a few on here have and have had good experiences.

The only difference Litchfields has been established for years.

The Sk2 was a pressie for the wife, the 530 was to replace my much loved DC5 The Classic RA I own now is very nice buy a hawk eye is just too bloody tempting, espcially as I love white cars I'll give you £10 though, no problem,

I bought my motor from PCM. Although it took a little longer to get into the country and get sorted than I expected. Can't fault Immys service. Cracking bloke too, good crack. My car is in Stockport at Prosport getting some mods done by Pete and the team. Immy still runs me to and from Manchester railway station. . Would defo use again when I come to upgrade.

My car is from PCM (Spec C). No bad word to say about them - great communication, good prices, the owner is a good bloke too. I'll buy from them again without doubt, perhaps even some time soon

As above comments, PCM tends to be a tad cheaper than Litcho albeit not been in the import business for as long or with Litcho's great reputation. PCM do have a good reputation on here though & there are 5-10 of us who have bought cars there.

Spec C vs Spec C Type RA - it's well know that the RA is the "softer" car so if you're a wuss go for that one!

I bought from PCM too. And echo the comments made, good bloke, great comms, selects excellent car's to import.

Had a tiny problem with mine and he sorted it all for me.

Wrong. RA is the more focused car over a standard Spec C.

I know what quote your on about, I remember the old thread in which we debated it. You seem to think that just because the Type RA comes with adjustable dampers as standard that makes it a softer car.

You are forgetting the fact that the RA also comes with ball jointed rear suspension arms, which offer less compliance and makes for a harsher ride, or the fact that it has a thicker rear A/R bar and a slightly wider track. Surely these are all indications of a more focused car.

was just thinking of this if the spec c ra has better suspension thicker anti roll bar ball jointed rear suspension arms. if this makes it a better handling car does that mean its less of a focused machine....lol

No the RA is a more focused car as you can adjust the suspension for different useage (ie track/road) making it more flexible, and then consider which car did the ring in 7mins 59 seconds, about 8 seconds quicker than the standard spec c

ive got the same decision to make shortly. i really want an import(spec of some sort) but all the above importers are miles away from me and i always like to have some sort of face to face contact when buying a car.
dont ask me why but id never buy a car off someone/person i dont get along with/ like.
plus im worried as if im going to spend 16/18k on a car i want a minter.
suppose im gonna have to be a big boy and go for it!

I go away for 2 weeks on hols and the old debate about which is better raises its head again....my opinion......spec-c type ra all the way. 1. because I have one. 2.cos its got all the trick handling bits and there arn't many in the country. 3. harder to sva and if someone wants one they will pay good money to get one. nuff said !!

Nope it wasnt a standard spec c thats in at 8.06 seconds, the 7.59 is what the spec c type RA (2005 model) was based upon, hence the prototype at the end (and the reason that car had the ring stickers and not the spec c )

So, for me the question remains the same, for the extra few £k, and for day to day road use, is the RA worth the extra.

Would the saving be better spend on choice mods to bring the handling in line for uk roads. I guess someone who has driven the 2 back to back on our roads needs to answer this.

PCM / Juggers can tell you this as he imports both; send him a PM. Type RA has softer / better suspension & looks better too IMHO. Worth that bit extra? Not sure

I advised asking Iain Litchfield for a reason and I didnt say 'or ask PCM too'; there was a reason for that. In five years when the lad has some real experience, extensive stock and a hard-earned reputation, then ask him. Iain Litchfield has that right now.

It all depends on your personal preference, the type ra can be quite harsh getting about town ,but then again i had it on a track set up.
The standard spec c is more then capable on and off the track, but for that extra exclusivity, better looks ,superior handling and not to mention the rarity the type ra would be the one to go for if your year is filled with track days.
The type ra is a ltd run and like any ltd run it holds it’s value much better then a standard spec c. I sold mine with quite a few mods for 29k a few months back and Mr Litchfield sold a standard blue one for 27k month ago.

To be honest mate the looks alone of the type ra should make this decision very easy.

Got no quarms with my motor mate . Spot on. Can't stop grinning when I drive it, that's when I get a chance and it's not at Prosport getting more mods .
