I have been looking at buying second hand Impreza, today i looked at an RB5, i have a small question for you all, when you open the front doors you can see a bolt at the bottom which holds the front wing on but this bolt was missing on both sides of this car has anyone got any ideas, this bolt is on other cars, cheers

Sounds stupid but have you questioned the dealer?

yes i did ask the dealer and he said he did not know, i was thinking along the lines it may have had a smash and the wings replaced and the bolts not replaced.IT had also had a Prodrive engine upgrade.

Just had a look at mine, not an RB5 but a MY98 Turbo so should be the same. Both bolts are present and correct. I would be suspicious as to why they aren't there, has it had any front end damage resulting in new wings being fitted? All questions for your seller to answer. Also HPI check may help.

Theres no reason why thoses bolts should not be there, on a front end repair its very hard to get to that part of the wing and install those bolts. I would walk away because I think hes telling porkies. Have you done a HPI check? if not ask the dealer, if he has had a HPI done ask to see it.

There are plenty about just walk away. If the price has you tempted then there may be a reason - it is too low for a pristine car?

You want it but don't get sucked in unless you know it is right.

RB5s are not the cheapest to buy second hand.

If you bought a std MY99 there are other ways to increase power - esp if your warranty ends soon.
