You can run it on the stock management. That is to say it will run, and with the boost turned down it should be suitable for running in and pottering about prior to mapping. The stock management will give richer running and more conservative ignition timing when running on a larger engine (due to how the load is calculated). It will not however run on your simtek with the 2.0 map in it.

Either way you should get it checked for det/fuelling for running in, and I would ensure the boost is set to wastegate pressure, or even disconnect the actuator rod to allow the wastegate to open fully until you get it to a specialist.

ok thanks for the advice. im only thinking of running it on stock management to get it up to Steve at TEG then having it remapped for a basic 2.5 map for running in.

I tried the same thing with my2.5 and was pottering down the motorway at about 65mph to get a few miles on it before mapping and managed to put a hole in the piston

Id say that Paul Balmire (Zen) knows what he is talking about. I answered 'no' because whilst the car will run, it can all go ****-up very easily. If you keep the car off-boost then it should be alright: if you are confident that you can do this (best achieved by improvising, as suggested), then go ahead. If you arent confident/cant be sure, then its better to err on the side of caution.
