Question

Hello,

I'm starting an Impreza Club in Portugal
(http://planeta.clix.pt/ImprezaPT/).
There are some people interested, but many more are needed!
Our objective is very simple: organize Scooby-only track days

So, are there any other portuguese scoobynet members interested?

Thanks,

António Correia Jr.

I've just got a contract in Lisbon starting 8 Jan for 9 months.

However, I was seriously expecting to sell my Scoob before I go. 3 reasons:
1. I think (though haven't researched it too much) it will be near impossible to comprehensively insure a RHD car in a LHD country for so long. Have been told 6 mths per year is the max, as otherwise there are questions of residency.
2. It's not much fun driving RHD on the right; overtaking is far more difficult. Tried it with a 205GTI in Brussels, took all the fun out of owning a performance car. Really frustrating.
3. I've heard about Portuguese drivers, and Lisbon traffic, and value my life....!

Aside from this, I'm getting less and less patient with my 4-door's luggage-carrying capacity, and it'll take ages to drive from London to Lisbon.

There is a sneaking fourth reason; I am hoping to get the contract prolonged for a few years, so would buy a LHD scoob to replace it!

Shall keep in touch!

Hi Brendan,

That's the problem when you drive on the wrong side of the road...

No one in Portugal has ever done a track day (unfortunately!!!). For some strange reason, our tracks are not available to the general public. Let's see if we can change that.

Anyway, I hope to have something worked out (Impreza Club) by January next year, so feel free to contact me.

See you,

António Correia Jr.

Yes there are (1 at least).
I've posted a message on your site, and I wish you all the luck.
Very interested in the track days stuff, or even in Impreza related meetings.

Registered today, but i've been around in this BBS for a while. Great Forum (just like THAT car people keep talking about...)

Hi,

I've just replied to your post on my forum.
Curious about the location of the track though.
Now... are there any other Scoobynet members living in Portugal?
