Default Impreza WRX STI advice

Hi New here. Thinking about buying a Scooby STI around 2001/2002 but I want to know more about them. Service costs, parts costs, mpg etc... What to look for when buying....just anything that will help really. Bit of an open book I know but any help would be appreciated!
Cheers

Disregarding depreciation I worked out a while ago that my 03STi costs me about £1500 a year more to run than a base Focus. Only caveat to this is that if you are young the insurance will raise this figure significantly. Cars themselves are tough and should be ok if FSH done. Only recurring fault is rear struts, otherwise the same as for any other car - ie look for signs of abuse or accident damage..
