I am trying to find a WRX STI to buy & have had an e-mail from a guy who is going to be selling his 1997 Type R in April (when his insurance runs out).
Only thing I am not sure about is that it's had a new engine put init, genuine STI from Scoobysport, which was done by the previous owner. The car has done 147,000Km (88K'ish miles so he says) and the engine was replaced at 110,000Km. Also fitted a Helix 4 plate paddle clutch.
Also has just had an accident in it, damaged front wing & drivers door, currently being repaired and then having full respray. He has sent me a pic of it at the scene of accident and it's dented the wing & scraped the door.
Is it better to stay away from cars like this that have had engine changes etc?

If your looking for a quality scooby at a sensible price contact Stuart at Town End Garage on 01524 733837. He is a spot on bloke with a vast scooby knowledge and a good selection of used cars. Tell him Kevin from Wales gave you his number.
Cheers!!!

hi phil
i met neil at the first scooby meet i went too, liked his car, just needed some wheels and a spoiler to get it right for me, surprised me when he sold it, hed spent a fortune on it then got rid of it, i remember trying to keep up with him in my 97 turbo, far quicker than mine up to 112 mph, lol
thought this scooby mentioned might be the same, obviously not
all the best

Mark, it is the same one, only i'm having to sell it now
I couldn't believe how much he had spent on it aswell, he maintained the car regardless of cost, a true fanatic.
I'm beginning to realise how much he missed the car, as its going to happen to me
Phil.
