Default 4 Wheel Alignment - Beds / Herts / Bucks

Evening all,

I'm fitting some Whiteline bits and some springs soon, obviously need to get the alignment sorted shortly after.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to where to get in done in the Beds/Herts/Bucks area? I've heard Powerstation are the dog's danglies, but they're quite a distance from me, there must be someone decent nearby.

TIA

I used PCS in Blechley, near Milton Keynes....

give you a print out before and after...

I'd suggest Mocom Racing who are quite close - North Weald, Essex (right by M25 junction 27). They specialise in trackday preparation and can advise on geometry settings to suit your driving style / intended use.

I had mine done there last year.

Thumbs up

That's great, cheers guys.

I'll probably give PCS a call first, I'd prefer use someone quite local to me as it's likely there'll be further tweaks from time to time.

Thanks again, much appreciated.

Anyone else with recommendations?

Found out about this guy from the mechanic I use when I get lazy. He was great - litterally, he's called Tony (sorry )

He's not a Scoob specialist, but he is a suspension specialist. Really enthusiastic, I was under the car all the time he was working on mine and he was explaining and teaching me what does what - it's really complex when you get into suspension.

My car hadn't been touched since new and after 10 years it was a bit reluctant but he saw it through and did everything needed. I have front and rear ARB Castor blocks and camber bolts all round. went for 1.5 degrees camber and 5 minutes of toe all round. (Job at Whiteline UK suggestion)

Had a track day at Brands a few days ago, kept up with Type R with its STi suspension low ratio gears and tricky centre diff. I'm just a 97 UK car. Guy in the Type R said he'd never had anyone do that - I was chuffed to bits.

You could do a lot worse.

ClintUK,

Cheers for that fella, that guy sounds very promising. For me, it's not just about trusting people who know their stuff, I'd like someone to talk me through what they're doing so I can gain an understanding of each adjustment and why it's being made.
He's defo a consideration, thanks again.

Scooby350Bhp,

Yeah, I know about STS. I've spoken to a few people who have had theirs set up there. Mixed reports really, some have left having fantastic handling but shockingly uneven tyre wear. And some, the other way round. Others have returned there after not being too happy with their setup, only to get a very sharp unwelcome response. (purely what I've heard). Shame really, they've got around 60k's worth of equipment and they're only 10 mins away from me. But I don't mind travelling a distance to get a decent setup and after sales service.

Sirfozzalot,

Thanks, that's 2 votes for Mocom.

That's exactly what Zak (at mocom) did with me. He asked me what sort of driving style I had or what I wanted from the car, fast road, track etc. and then went through each part and explained how it effected the handling.

Once it was done he said if I wasn't happy with the set-up, simply return it, explain what I didn't like and he would adjust it accordingly

First class service!
