Agreed
Although some people do seem to emphasise the 'bar' sound which I don't get, perhaps its a regional difference?

Also, how many people have you noticed pronounce 'Mitsubishi' as 'Mitsubooshi'? Or maybe thats because they're thick rather than just a regional dialect

My Israeli brother in law says 'Su - BAAAAA - ru'
I have to correct him every time, being a bit of a pedant. It's pronounced as spelt, simple as that.

My old chap couldn't say it - called it a "Salubria"
Gets on much better with Audi now
although one bloke I was talking to called the Audi an "Ordi" (part local-dialect, part ignorance
)
