You'll be amazed what they can do with bent cars today, hopefully the damage wont be too costly
Just something i've noticed in the last picture but is your strut brace on the right way around? Look like its on backwards to me

that bits replaceable.

if your doing it through insurance request it to be taken somewhere like scoobyclinic, I had a bump in one of mine a few years back (bent the same bar when I did it) they gave it me back and I couldnt tell it had ever happened!! it looks fixable from the photos you have shown, but would really need to see the chassis from underneath.

get it to Scooby Clinic | The UK's Largest Independent Subaru Specialists | 01246 590 807 - Chesterfield S42 6QX

Looks like it's that way because of the angled intercooler on the early WRXs

Good luck with the repairs matey

Think that's a Juran strutbrace as i have one (came with the car) and it's fitted in front of the intercooler.

Hope the car gets fixed

Yes the chassis rail is bent a bit. It's fixable, nothing a pull on the jig won't sort....that is, if the value of the car is enough not to write it off by the insurer. Although noted thats it been stripped down, I take it your thrid party?

Doesn't take much to bend them on these things; the inner bumper may as well be made of ice cream wafers when compared to the huge girders found on the inner bumpers of VAGs and BMWs

Im not going through the insurance im going to be getting the parts myself and fitting them well the ones i can fit myself i will get a bodyshop to do the rest.

Will it cost allot to get the chassis rail fixed?

Thanks Sean

Can do; Although that looks pretty straight forward as I don't think the engine will need to be removed.

Being a part DIY job, the cost is going to depend mainly on how much stuff is going to get done by the bodyshop/panel beater; i.e remove parts to get access to straighten the chassis rail, removing and welding on a new front valance section and replacing top cross bar etc.

The actual chassis rail itself on its own would get done in a little over half a working day, but removing stuff in way to get access will make it take longer.

Seeing its mainly a labour task, the cost will be down to the hourly rate the bodyshop charges and what you do or don't do yourself. Sorry I can't be anymore specific.

That sounds good to me.

I was a bit worried about engine having to come out but if it doesn't then thats good.

I just hope the bills dont get to excesive.

at a guess your looking about:- 31hrs labour @£25ish per hour should cover it,jig time, repair n/s leg & bay, replace front panel,n/s wing if requ,d bonnet if requ,d,front bumper, include colour blend into o/s wing & n/s door, your also looking iro £300 paint and materials, so about £1100+vat, plus parts should cover it at a tidy bodyshop.

Chassis rail would circa £200-300 to be jigged if you drill all panels out and take stripped down.
You will need:
Slam panel-£38
Headlight panel-£30
Bumper bar-£28
possibly cross member - £65 for both sections
if changing cross member you will need rienforcment sections £15 for 2.

You might need the front apron section of the inner wing as prob creased.

Above are new prices, scoobybits are very reasonable for secondhand parts.

Is having it jigged the only option available to me or are there other solutions the bodyshop could come up with?

Its the best option as subframe mounting point is on rail adjacent to front of turret and that will probably have shifted.

Don't want to upset you but the damage may be more than it looks, as the strut brace might have sent the impact force across to the other side of the car and pushed it out, hence why some insurance companies won't cover if you have them fitted. Good luck thou.

I never saw this before, sorry i never replyed,

No im not third party im fully comp but claiming on my insurance means when it comes to renewal there will be no way i am going to be able to insure it and i have a fairly high excess

Im going to get someone from the bodyshop to look at it tommorow because i have a day off so i will let you know how many ££££'s its gonna cost me

Well i went to see the guy and he is going on holiday next week so he said for me to source some parts and give him a call at the start of August and he will come round to take a look and give me a price.

Im still trying to source parts at the moment

Ebay seems to be cheaper than most scrap yards i have spoken to!

Any ideas on here where i could get some bits from?
