Bit Of Advice RE Black Plod Scoob/NIP
You may remember, I posted here about the Black unmarked Plod STI near Coventry, that my mate overtook at 110 around 4 weeks ago.
On the day, Scooby Plod gave him a receipt "Warning" it aid on the Ticket.
It's now 4 weeks since the incident, he has not had a NIP in the post.
What is the form on this, is there a maximum time for the NIP to be served, any advice greatfully received.
My mate is a bit confused, is it spent, or is it live?
Thanks.
Regards.

No excuses, it was on a dual carrigeway, he saw the Scoob enter the DC slip road @ speed & moved into the outside lane & booted it.
He said he couldn't help himself, heard the Scooby Burble and off he went!
He was out of order, no doubt about it.
However, he saw the Scoob, heard the exhaust, and the rest was just a blur, couldn't help himself!
As I said, he's a nice bloke, but he drives a BMW!!!
Regards.

I may be wrong, but I'd say he's had the NIP already. I think all the cop has to do is tell him rather than wait for something in the post. He'll have to sweat for 6 months to find if he's got away with it. My guess would be he'll get a summons in 4-5 months time.

So he could sweat for up to 6 months then?
Is it because Plod gave him a ticket on the day and, if you get flashed by a SC you have how long to get the NIP in the post?
Thanks.

numptey for 110 on DC?
All depends on the circumstances. If this nanny state carries on people will end up believing that 50mph on a motorway should invoke the wrath of god. Our current limits were set when cars took three times longer to stop, and generally did not manage to do so in a straight line

When I got stopped by plod I had only the warning slip of paper your mate got. Then nothing for several months, and when I did get something it was the summons. If the cop says you're going to court, then I'd assume you're going to court.
As I've said, he probably got the NIP orally or it's written on the paper he got. Postal NIPs, that have to be received in something like 15 days, are for situations where you didn't get stopped by the cop, ie. a GATSO. I may be wrong, maybe someone can confirm.

Also, I got done 'averaging' over 100, the highest I went was 110 I'd imagine. Nice clear 2 laned motorway on a bright sunny day, doing nothing wrong IMHO, and I'd do the same speed today if I wanted to if conditions allowed. I got 6 points and £100 fine.

Not defending him.
Be honest, can you say that on a DC if you were in the mood, and conditions were fine, you would not have had a bit of a blast?
By the way, is this the Nissan Micra Site or the Scooby Site???
Regards.

He may have reported you when he stopped you, which means they have 6 months to "Lay the information" or send you a summons for court.
Did he caution you? that would be a good indication?

and being a bmw driver, he probably didnt indicate to go into the outside lane so will probably get done for that. The chances are the judge who will be in charge of the court case wil drive a merc so your mate will probably get a custodial sentance!!

Someone down the Pub tonight has highlighted a similar experience.
In a Pug, overtook UNMARKED PLOD, got a ticket.
6 months on, nothing, thoight he had got away with it.
2 weeks later, summons.
The receipt, given by the Roadside was taken as NIP, even although it doesn't say so on the ticket.
Mr Pug, £200 fine and a 4 week ban.
Thanks for all help/views posted on this.
Regards.
