as far as i can remember from previous comments and personal trial, 17 inch is the optimum for performance for scoobies.....18's are for ...... ..looks alone...but they are available........

Although you may be correct - i'm sure there are plenty of drivers out the who (like me) who have driven with both 17's and 18's on their Scoob and really can't see any performance advantage of the 17's. So for me, the tarty looks win the day

ive got 17's on my uk classic (p1 wheels), and would say with the combo of 215/40/17 toyo tyres and upgraded suspension/whiteline bits... easily the best handling scoob ive had.
in comparison, on my first car (2.0l sport) i had standard suspension, and 18" speedline turinis with 215/35/18 toyos. didnt handle as well, but more so down to suspension on the sport perhaps.
wrx i had after this was on 205/50/16 kumho rubber with speedline st2 wheels. handled better than the sport, even with inferior tyres, but maybe more down to the stiffer jap suspension...
swings and roundabouts, but i would personally like a set of 18" wheels now to see the difference over the 17" combo on there now. fills the arches better too.
