Vortex to Blitz
I am considering swapping my Vortex afterburner b/b for a Blitz Nur b/b.
How do they compare sound wise on tickover and at high revs, would there be much difference in the noise levels?
Thanks.

I still have the pea-shooter available .........
But, I must admit to enjoying the burble at idle with the Ninja - and it really isn't loud (remember I do NOT push the engine over 3000 RPM)

I draw the line at a BackBox ..................
Getting LV to accept it on the Insurance was a major bloody task!!! Imagine if I had done something really stupid, like a Re-Map!!

Better mpg????
There is only ONE way to achieve better mpg and that is to burn LESS fuel.
Burning LESS fuel gives LESS power ..... yeah, riiiiiiiight, sounds a good idea

Or perhaps remaps, decats etc simply result in greater efficiency, better than even the almighty Subaru with their millions could come up with.

(Sorry Bob - you knew none of us could resist)
Tell you what would improve your fuel economy Pete - buy a car without a turbo on it. Seeing as you apparently never drive over 3000rpm you never use the bloody thing anyhow.

OK, for the challenged ..... Subaru WOULD extract 500BHP and get 60mpg if they could - agree??
So, the only thing to get more mpg / more power is to either drink more fuel or to ignore emission regulations ......
You are plain daft if you think that a mapper on here knows more about mapping an Impreza than Subaru do themselves
THEREFORE, the mapper MUST do something that is NOT good for the engine OR ignore emission regulations OR not care about long term reliability ...... there is NO free lunch!!
It is painfully simple ..........
Understand now?

*must rise above being baited into another topic where pslewis is wrong.. *
All I'll say is, production tolerances.

Or perhaps not all engines are identical, the same fuels aren't available around the world, so Subaru's (less expensive on mass production) generic map is not as good as custom map for that partictular vehicle ?

Your not possibly suggesting that every Impreza engine isn't balanced, blue-printed and hand built are you? And that the ECU map isn't programmed for each and every single engine individually? I'm shocked, I truely am.
