Default gl ???

just bought a freshly imported type ra and it says in the log book thats its a gl is this usual??? thanks

Not surprised really as RAs are only jap in classic form (doesn't mean you can insure it as a gl though ).
My V5 only states manufacturer no version or variant (i've got a 93wrx)

it says gl 2l 4wd and its 380bhp+ lol

loads of imports get put down as GL - DVLA seem to have screw loose

my first WRX MY95 was, it seems quite common

DVLA just make it up as they go along, as far as I can tell. Certainly the V5 is anything but an accurate way to identify a car - my JDM STI was registered as a "Subaru GC-GDB" (or something like that), I just wrote back and spelled I-M-P-R-E-Z-A for them in nice, clear block capitals.

Actually: Subaru GDB identifies the model absolutely (its from the JDM applied model number). I do see your point though.

My RA is a GL too, had a MY93 and that logbook said it was a Jailing
