OK, as long as everyone accepts that it's purely cosmetic and has no mystical powers then I think it's a great idea!!

I haven't seen any ceramic coated ones but i've seen some polished ones that look good.

I've seen a powder coated one in what looks like a candy apple red that looks quite smart.

on a recent trip to metal magic in barnsley with jasemac, i noticed they had sprayed some inlets in bright red. looked fantastic. very tempted, but other things to spend monies on thus far.

they do wheel refurbs, but this may be another leaf of the branch theyre looking into.

Now that's plain daft..!

Of all the things to paint in a dark, heat absorbing colour..!

And before anyone says the oem inlet tract is black, that's purely penny pinching by the manufacturer..!

AHA!! Finally the possibilities of real performance gains by doing this mod come true. I suspect most people will think white will be best. But what about white with some black stripes down the side to set up some convection currents to aid cooling of the inlet tract?

Basic physics matey..

Why do you think most sun blocks contain silver particles in the form of zinc, why most, if not all the buildings in Spain/Greece etc are painted white and finally, why do NASA use white for their EVA suits..?

I had mine powder coated, looked good for a while, but now it is starting to craze due to the heat...

I have had the same problems with alloy wheels as well...

Now I prefer to paint them myself.

polishing an inlet manifold is the worst possible thing you can do. the surface is rough for the purpose of cooling.

With 500 BHP they can afford to lose a bit for the sake of bling. so your saying if Roger Clarke does it, it has to be right?
any good engineer will tell you a rough surface cools quicker than a polished one.
