yes, I would tend to agree as that was the last classic STI. Not sure if they were made, but an STI v5 Type RA would also be a contender. That should have the same power as a Type R, but less weight I think.

My old standard V4 typr R used to **** on my mates modified V6 type R. I think if there were a differance between the classic STi's then would be only very minor and you wouldnt be able to tell in the real world.
A 22b would probably be quicker than an RA though
