Default TOTB Quote of the day

From a group of young southerner lads stood near me at the closing of the 1/4 mile qualifying:

Lad 1: "It's all bloody Subarus, where's the proper cars?"
Lad 2 (very excited): "Look, Tigra!"

At Jap Fest when we had our fire, I heard 2 very knowledgeable lads categorically state that Scooby's have rotary engines, thus that must have been why our engine failed

It was bad enough the commentators talking about Steve Ross's Mustang-engined, twin turbo Granada. That'll be the supercharged, Chevrolet LS1 version of the Ford Mustang, then?

Top Speed
Russ was winning on the last update at 2:15 with a speed of 163, but after this I think he got beat by a coupe and speccy with the Tigra, results werent ready for that though, I will know when we get the update on Tuesday, assuming its as I think though I believe we have 1st and 3rd

Quarter Best Times
Golf 11.69
CRX 11.76
3rd SPECCY TIGRA 11.97
Rover 12.12
5thPHIL SUTTON CORSA 12.20
6thBUX CORSA 12.24
7thMUPPETSPORT CORSA 12.3
8thSPANISHFLY NOVA 12.4

THATS FIVE PLACES FOR US OUT OF THE TOP EIGHT!!!!!!

Quarter Shootout
Golf
2ndSPECCY TIGRA
3rdPHIL SUTTON CORSA
4thBUX CORSA

So its safe to say if they were doing points for the team event in FWD class specifically rather than just overall then we would most certainly have won the fwd class by a fair margin.

Was he in a different class to everyone then.. I was under the impression that the car and engine had to come from the same manufacturer

'cough' sorry, it was the closest match to an on-topic comical pic that I had!

Nope, otherwise the Cossie powered Dolomite and Sunbeam would have been in trouble too, not to mention the Caterfields with various bike engines.

Not from TOTB, but at JAE the week before, couple of lads:

Lad 1, "look there's a nice P1"
Lad 2, "wicked"

Shame(?) it was actaully a 22B with a 22B number plate

Yup, it was quick (as were a lot of the Corsas and Novas to be fair). Just made me laugh that 9-second Scoobies weren't proper cars but a Tigra was

I'm friends with a bloke called Chip (who seems to get around a lot and ran the vauxhall team) Who was/is building a LET powered mini, a couple of years ago was saying something along those lines

Not going to get into an arguement, but (ominous last words)... 9 sec scoobies cost a lot more than that tigra. But I know which one I'd rather have, and hairdressers dont drive them (that much!)

I was in the pub in the wood at LWV when NBO was on and the quote from one of the two young lads peering out of the window as a WR Blue Blobeye Sti drove past stickered up 'That's one of them special motorsport ones their well fast'

The Tigra is local to me and do not get me wrong it is a quick car for what it is but will always be a one trick pony and only in bone dry conditions!
It was mapped at AET on their rollers and made 362bhp and 380lb/ft of torque at 21psi but by god it spins like a good un in even slightly damp conditions.
