Have to say having been there all day it was indeed a great effort, I would like to highlight Paul (Zen) who despite suffering water inbjection pump failure on his high speed run causing a cylinder to lose compression then went on to put it back together and earn a very valuable six points on the quarter ensuring that we did win this year, a true team orientated decision as if it "went even more wrong" it would have cost Zen dearly in engine rebuild.
Olly was superb on the handling and great to see him hitting a 9.5 on the quarter with a 194mph high speed run, Andy awesome as always only losing out in the overall shootout final due to his car "deciding" to deselect first gear on the line as he launched !!! Otherwise he would have added that trophy to the others. John Stevenson's hill climbing pedigree showing thro' as he led then ran 2nd on the handling for a considerable time, such smooth and controlled driving was a pleasure to see.
Lots of long faces in other quarters I'm sure but fair to say congratulations came from all camps.
Finally the most important thing of all .... a big big thanks to Steven for his sterling work pulling it all together, I think I speak for us all when I say we look forward to him doing the same thing next year !!
cheers
a very happy Bob
