You may get a better response in the insurance section of the site,but....
In my experience with the larger companies they will screw you for ANY mods whether performance based or not.I recently went with A-Plan and didn't get charged any extra for a few small mods and they're a good bunch - very friendly and genuinely seem happy to talk to you as opposed to the robots on switchboards.
Just my opinion though.

On my last car with Privilage it was an extra £75 for a full exhaust system and wheels. Don't waste your time declaring 1 mod at a time as some companies only allow one change and then charge you for amending your details but you really should declare all mods done to your car regardless of cost.

Yeah, best to do it all at once. They normally charge an administration charge for each one.I got charged £20 by admiral and also another £35 on top for an exhaust that didn't even improve performance om my old RX-8,was just cosmetic and sounded nice.

Correct and quite within their rights to shaft you !
Not worth the risk, I'm with Keith Michaels, ANY mods are allowed except a 2.5 conversion without upping the premium. So I'm aiming for 450 bhp from my 2 litre

You might get shafted big style, some of the big compaines charge 10% of the policy per area.
Ie: 10% of the policy for exhaust and then another 10% for wheels etc
I got shafted years ago with the previlage, £145 for back box!!!!!!
Well worth switching to a specialist, Now with A Plan, all mods declared and next to nothing added to the policy
