Pendine sands?
I think thats the correct spelling, I once saw Top Gear on there, anyone been? Is it still ok to drive on? Any costs? Any advice on this greatly appreciated.

I seem to recall someone saying the council put up signs banning vehicles soon after the show, with some hefty fines if caught. Parts of it are owned by the MoD too.

Even if it were ok, not a good idea. Sand will get EVERYWHERE in/under/on the car. Some parts of the beach will be damp so lovely salt water all under your car, doesn't do it any good.

the problem with pendine was before top gear publicised it. a woman walker died after being hit by a sand-buggy (on of those sit in buggy things with a kite pulling it), she lost a leg in the collision and died shortly after, the resulting investigation declared the beach absolutely chaotic, with a mixture of motocross bikes, cars, sandbuggys, radio controlled cars, 4x4ers, horse riders and pedestrians etc etc. apparently driving in a madmax stylee, the council were then declared liable for any accidents involving vehicles driven in a reckless manner as it was the councils responsibility to ensure that vehicles were driven in a controlled manner, the councillors then all quit as they did not want to be held responsible, no councillors would stand for re-election with the liability of vehicle axs on the beach, so the council closed the beach to all vehicles, and pendine as a holiday destination has died on it's ar5se.
