Those seem to be unmodded cars, so for the price they're ok. With japanese imports there will be no service history, so if you know any mechanics etc get them to have a look at them?

280BHP is standard for Jap import STI's.

Check the clutch point isn't very high, mine was (95 WRX, 72k miles) when I got it, clutch only lasted a month before slipping....

Edit: get an insurance quote too before you buy, if you are on a tight budget, as they are group 20. Running costs are relatively high, £50 of petrol will take you about 180-220 miles depending how right foot happy you are. Oil changes every 3k miles is recommended.

Yes. But is that for an Import model? Most insurance companies won't touch High Performance imports.
Have alook on the 'Insurance' Forum. I personally have my MY03 STi UK with A-Plan.

had a quote for around the £700 mark fully comp with no-claims protected from tesco (for import sti), i have been paying this for a heavily modified mk3 golf and the scooby seems more exciting!!. im 28 and have no points and 8 years no claims, how much do you guys and gals pay?

Try direct line or greenlight . You should be looking at just over £600 ... depending on how dodgey your area is
