Default Performance figures of 2006 WRX??

Had a go with a 2006 Impreza the other day (think it was a WRX not 100% sure tho) from around 30mph up to around 80mph.....

We were pretty much even all the way, mines a classic with PPP and i was expecting to pull away from him but he kept with me!

Does anyone know the performance spec of the 2006 model??

yes gearing and torque will have an effect.

Older scobbys are fast, new ones probably just as fast as they have more bhp and torque to compensate for the extra weight.

A power to weight calculator is only a guide, not overly accurate in defining real world 0-60, 0-100 figures.

VTECs have lots of power, but lack torque hence not great 0-100. I had the Accord Type R before the WRX I own now (and Love)

To quote prodrive:

impreza wrx performance package
- 270 ps (266 bhp) @ 5,700 rpm
- 420 Nm (310 lbft) @ 3,000 rpm
- Recalibrated engine management system
- High flow intercooler hose
- Stainless steel sports exhaust silencers
- Only available as a complete package -
components cannot be bought separately
- To fully benefit from the extra torque levels
available, fitment of 18" wheels & tyres is
recommended
- Complies with Euro 4 emissions and noise
regulations as per 'supercar limits’
The Impreza WRX Performance Package has
been designed by Prodrive to deliver class
leading performance, boosting torque by
over 30 percent and extending its availability
across a wider rev range than the standard
engine.
The improved performance is produced
through a carefully developed combination of
matched exhaust and engine management
modifications. This combination of
enhancements boosts peak power to 270 ps
at 5,700 rpm (previously 230 ps at 5,600
rpm on the standard engine) and delivers an
impressive 420 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm an
improvement of 30 percent on the
maximum torque of the standard car.
With the performance package fitted, the
Impreza WRX has more torque than the peak
of the standard road car, from 2,400 rpm,
right through to 5,500 rpm. These impressive
statistics ensure that drivers have the
responsiveness required for performance
driving, including all-important, mid-range
overtaking.

SACC 2611 PPP-WRX-06 Impreza WRX Performance Package (06 MY)
April 2006 2006 Impreza WRX PPP

impreza wrx performance package impreza wrx performance package

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

-This enhancement is offered only as a complete
package. The constituent parts are not available
separately, as they will only show their full benefit
when used together.
-Following installation of the performance
package, cars can be serviced in the normal
manner. All service parts are standard Subaru
items.
-To obtain maximum benefit from the package, we
recommend continued use of super unleaded (97
RON) fuel. Vehicles will run safely using 95 RON
premium unleaded, but may not deliver their full
potential due to the lower octane of this fuel.
-Customers should be advised that most car
insurers require vehicle owners to inform them of
any changes to vehicle specification. Failure to do
this may invalidate their policy.

Another possibility - maybe it wasn't standard.

There isnt really a lot between a 4.5sec car and a 5.5sec car in the real world and this seems to prove it. All the same, all Imprezas are well quick next to most other cars!!
