Default Reversing sensors

So, i've bitten the bullet and bought a bugeye for my first venture into scooby ownership. For all those who offered advice between a late classic or a bugeye - i thankyou. 45K miles. FSSH. Mint. I couldn't say no!
However, as we are getting rid of a Clio 172 and replacing it with a scooby i reckon the missus will benefit from reverse parking sensors. Has anyone experience of the do's and don'ts? Any type better than another?

Depends how the rear view is. I have factory fitted ones on my vRS Octavia. I decided to get them first time I test drove one and found that I could see sod all when reversing

Wouldn't be without them.

However, whenever I see a Mini with them I think - why? I can't see the need for them on a short car.

I dont think the size of the car has anything to do with it
its to aid vision behind the car (posts/people/objects in blind spots)
the rear/overhang in most cars is the same, and you cant see whats under your rear window (on any car) its to aid reversing in warning you about objects you cant see. kids bikes come to mind.
so there good on any size car, minis included.
