Does anybody know what is the min. grade of fuel for the above car?
Will 95ron cause real damage to the engine with normal road driving?
I also seem to get low mpg - down to 14pmg with some not very heavy right foot driving..... is this normal! other than that it goes like stink!
Has anyone tried moding the engine? The second turbo comes in on full power very late compared to the STI, is it possible to change this turbo charger?

alex -
check the archives on yahoo groups legacyb4 group -
optimax only recommended in UK - 95 RON definitely not though the ej208 is not as fragile as the sti engines.

4000 rpm is wehere the second turbo joins in but it takes a while to spool up as both wastegates are opened and some pressure is squandered - changing your backbox can ease this a little though generally modifications make the 'valley of death' worse not better - best to learn to drive around the 4000-5000 range instead.

enjoy your GT/B - ultimate q-car

Thanks for your comments Paul, is this what you drive? What mpg do you get driving at this rpm and how do you keep your licence...
Cheers

I ran a 95 GTB on 95 ron with no probs - ave about 23 mpg.

I suspect SUl or optimax is the way to go though.

I thought the second turbo kicked in about 4500-5000 rpm? Plenty quick enough although the autobox sucks alot of the power.
