Default Prodrive - Tax

Great apologies if this has already been discussed, I did do a search and there didn't seem to be anything specific.

I have 2006 Sti registered before March so I am still in the smaller tax group. If I have the Prodrive package fitted will my tax climb into the next group? If so how do they find out, does the registration documents get updated?

NO the 2005 STI is in the ugly band G which is £300 and £400 nexy year.

CO2 above 225 is band G

The 2005 WRX is 219 so band F (£190), but the lastest WRX is band G

If you fit a PPP no it doesn't effect your car tax band as the DVLA are not informed.

Come on Gordon, tax em till they bleed you socialist bulldog.

My understanding was as long as the car was registered before March 2006 you remained in Band F and not the scaling skyscraper which amounts to £300this year and a mortgage next year?

As already said the above is wrong, it also depends on when the car was registered. Anything before march 23rd and you can keep out of band G.... which is why my 1st march 2006 registered car is not band G.

Gutted! My car was registered on the 30th March and falls into group G next year . Made the heart breaking decision to sell my scoob as refuse to pay that much for a weekend drive

As above any scoob before march 22nd is safe from gordo for the time being that is. All you new owners be prepared to be taken roughly from behind by Gordo

Default increase in road tax

Guys

Bit of pain when you are not used to it, but spare a thought for scooby owners in Ireland

If you want a shock have a look at this

Road tax is based on engine cc

1901- 2000cc = €539 about £390
2401- 2500cc = €821 about £560 which is a bummer for anybody that wants to buy a new WRX

And if you want to have some big engine fun get this, 3001cc or more €1343 about £930

They are bringing in a CO2 based tax like the UK but I doubt its going to make it any cheaper. Have you ever heard of the taxman wanting less!!!

I need to drive a vintage car ...only €42 a year Some day my classic will be vintage

Surely compared to the price of fuel , insurance and servicing the difference in road fund licence over a year is a tiny drop in the ocean?
