Pretty much that, it needs to comply with the euro 4 standards, its very hard to get on these cars and can cost anything from 5-10k.
Emissions and safety are the big 2 really, and for just bringing 1 into the country, its not worth the hassle or money (16k for the car, 10% export tax, 17.5% import tax, shipping, insurance, ESVA, model report, registration, road tax etc).

16k or 20k they go for 4.6-4.8 mil so the car cost 20k before it's been shipped. And again same with the type ra-r 4.6+

Default sodeska!!!

gentlemen,

thanks. it is similiar in this country but the emissions stuff is really lax. there is all this legislation about carbon issues but practice is a different thing all together.

import taxes are the biggest chunk of what filipinos have to pay. as much as 100% of the invoiced value of the car... sometimes the displacement... the determination of just how much taxes cost keeps changing.

ahh... life in the third world. you just have to grin and bear it at times... no, strike that... you have to grin and bear it most of the time. hahahaha

at the end of each run of models there was a special edition made

Classic - S201
Bugeye - S202
Blob eye - S203
Hawkeye - S204

each was the work of STI in Japan
