Default What mods for 400/400?

MY03 STi PPP - what would I need to do to get 400bhp/400+lbft (without losing driveability/reliability)?
Cheers
Steve

Have a search for the MD321H turbo, I think I spelt it right but seems to get very good write ups and produces just over 400bhp.

As SPEN said, plus an uprated clutch, think the gearboxes are not to bad, not sure how the internals would cope for longevity though..

WRC Technologies - SUBARU WRX/STi - 03/05 STi - WRC 400
Steve,
This lot will get you the power that you are after (400+ bhp) but a little shy on torque.
I have this fitted to my 03 Sti along with 650cc injectors and an Aquamist system and it is averaging around 415bhp and 375 lf/lb on the rollors.
No reliability issues but there is always an increased risk of failures when you start going up the power ladder.
The car is very easy to drive around town, a bit too easy, even the woman takes it out and about

Hi yep i had the MD321H on my classic and it made 385BHP / 350lbs ft at 1.4bar but will reach 400+bhp but not 400lbs ft its a very good and reliable turbo ideal for a 2ltr, got it from scoobyclinic but now ive went for there new SC42 turbo which they have been testing on my scoob and it has made exellent results on dyno at the moment it has made 385/385 at same boost but spool is so much faster than the MD, doing more test this week with a bit more boost and will see the 400/400+ you want, it should put out more so ive been told, put all this depends on the spec of your car, my scoob has a big spec list and all work has been done by scoobyclinic, give them a ring and ask more about the SC42, SC46, & SC50. hope this helps

That sounds about right although mine is a 95 classic, ive got scoobyclinics SC42 turbo, forged internals, 909 bosch fuel pump, 740cc injectors, headers & up pipe, FMIC, oil cooler, exedy twin plate clutch, PPG gearbox, the list goes on & on should be about 420/420 when finished maybe more not sure.

3" Decat, MD321H/TD05 20g, Headers, Plugs, Induction, Remap

You could keep a smaller turbo and use additives, like NF or methanol.

(* With that power, definitely be needing money for brakes & suspension).

Probably budget for around £7-8k.

No need for FMIC, unless really ragging/track work. If that's the case, then set the mileage counter to zero and see how many miles you get before something blows. Engine is outputting 150%!!

Clutch has no problems, but i'm gentle with the car anyway. 392/361. Spools quicker than standard.
