Default 05 impreza

just bought my second impreza wrx in 3 years, i had a 2000 model before, now i have a 2005 new shape one my only gripe is the sound system in the 2000 model was better than the 2005, the rear speakers seem to give out very poor sound, is this right ? when i switch to rear on the fader it sounds awfully quiet... its all standard , is there a cheap simple way to cure this, do i remove the rear speakers and replace, or replace the header unit ?
thanks..

great fun cars arent they, a smile a day here

You need to change the head unit and front speakers to get any real improvement.

Ended up changing the rears as well on mine, then added an active sub under the passenger seat and now we have some fairly decent sounds.

the only sound track I like to listen to comes from the motor. I agree that its nice to have adequate music sounds though
