is it normal for FMIC pipes to get HOT??
Just had my front mount intercooler fitted today and after a good hours drive on the motorway i found that all the aluminium fmic pipes were very hot u can just about touch them, is this normal? by the way there is no shield on my turbo or on the headers and the downpipe isn't wrapped, would heat wrapping everyfing make a difference or not....cheers

Feel the exit of the intercooler, it should be colder than the 'in' side. In fact mine is stone cold permanently, no matter what the conditions. I have all the intercooler pipes within the engine bay wrapped in aluminium heat tape so that helps.

They will be cooler when you're running, with more airflow over it, the pipes do heat up when stationary though, a turbo blanket or similar shielding will help a bit. Anything in the engine bay will absorb heat though.
