Type R...Oil Leak after service...
Hi all,
just had the type R seviced at TDI's in essex and when i came back i noted the oil level was way above 'F' on the dipstick... As they are specialists im assuming they know what there doing
now the cars been parked up for a few days and when i moved it there a reasonable sized puddle of fresh oil under the sump...what do you guys think it can be? i thought it may be the sump plug or sump gasket due to overfilling.
cars running good as gold but am not going to touch it until i get this checked.

It could be just the oil residue where they might not have cleaned it off properly, very much doubt its the sump gasket, unless the car is seriously over full with oil.
Make sure that they changed the sump plug seal as it may be that leaking.
Also with the flat four engine it takes quite a while for the oil to drain into the sump, so if they checked the level straight after they put oil in it, the oil is still draing into the sump, hence why its above the full mark.

Have just gone and checked, the leak in about 3 days is the size of a dinner plate (roughly), the oil is dripping from somewhere just behind the sump plug... going to get this checked tomorrow...cheers m8

Oil was leaking in such a way, i thought it was coming from the sump, but it was coming from the crankshaft oil seal.
Get it checked out asap mate
