my m8 has been there all weekend with a few viper guys and PH'ers,
he did not see the actual run him self, but did witness quite a few of his 9.5 runs earlier during the day
he said the scooby looked really strong, straight off the line it just go's and go's

It is 1 hell of a machine, still can't see it only doing a 135mph pass in a very low 9, would have too be around the 160mph

Yeah Andy did a 9.33 1/4 at sso last week with a terminal of 155mph so i would imagine it would need to be at least 158mph.
Also it has been a hot weekend where as at sso it was bloody freezing so ACT's could of been quite high, which would effect the run also.
But after all said and done i hope he has done a 9.15

No secrets around here then Yes we are just back from a 700mile round trip.
We had a good if slightly frustrating day.
Started the day with a 9.6@147 without nos, same tune as SSO the previous weekend (Elvington terminals are usually around 10mph higher than the pod/avon on my car)
Then had a number of runs with the nos but we were struggling for traction off the line, the track was in great condition but the tyres were dusty after the return road, 60' around 1.75sec with lots of sideways action Best time by run 6 was 9.3@158
It was a much hotter day than SSO, the track temp was up to 110F during the afternoon.
For run 7 I thought there is only one thing for it clean the tyres up with a 4wd burnout before the run, this usually results in breaking something as the fronts come out the water and hit the sticky stuff first, grip and the centre diff locks and transfers the power instantly to the rear.
Anyway, got away with it and went for a hard launch, wow - 60' of 1.43 secs, 1/8th mile was 0.31sec quicker than before.....then just as i get into 4th gear the engine cuts out and I coast across the line slowing to 138mph..... still running a 9.16 which is a PB and I believe new record (prev best 9.19) Another 'if-only' run !
Found the problem was a 10p fuse to the fuel pumps had blown :grr:
Time for one last run before loading up, another burn out (chancing it now)and 1.4x launch, best ever 1/8th mile of 127mph in 5.9 secs then I miss 4th gear twice ! running 9.5 something at 140. God knows how I missed 4th, not like its difficult
Anyway, a good day out 8x mid to low 9's runs on the trot, with things still moving in the right direction
I've got some vids I'll post up tomorrow.
cheers
Andy

Just turned up Keith, there was only 2 jap cars right enough ! Queuing wasn't too bad, ten mins max.
I like the way they run it, as a RWYB entry you just line up at anytime and run against the pro classes they are running

Yes its ok there dont have to que for long.
To say i am a bit pissed off with them when i got this email over a week ago.
Hi Keith
Thanks for the e-mail regarding the 2nd/3rd June. The weekend is for American cars only 'Yanks Weekend' I'm afraid.
However, the next Public Track Day RWYB will be June 16th/17th - Shakespeed '07

Well done andy, amazing 60ft's, and the time with the terminal would of certainly been a high 8,
Keith, instead of keep going to shakespeare, wouldn't it be better to showcase it at the jap show at pod in frt of a few 1000 people.

I plan to run at the pod at the jap show.
the reason we wanted to go to shakespeare this weekend was to see if we had sorted the misfire out and set up the new dampers ready for the pod.

I had 1/4 mile terminals of 169 and 171mph at totb5, at the pod a few weeks later the same tune was 159/160mph.
It should be quiet at Crail this Sunday Keith, traction seems a bit better than previous years with some of the regulars in Sti's getting 1.7 on std road tyres. I was considering a run across for some testing.

Yes, booked in for Jap show at Santa Pod See how it goes against some real drag cars ! I may stand a better chance if they put in a chicane in the braking zone though
You need to get some decent brakes on that car Keith
