I *believe* that anything built (registered?) post 1 Jan 1993 needs to meet the stricter regs that are difficult to pass without a cat.

Tricky one without any cats. Do you know any 'friendly' MOT stations?

Take the car for a hard blast before taking it in there and get them to do the emissions first. My car just scraped through. Failed slow idle but passed fast idle. It's trickier for them to fail you if the car is not specifically on their database.

Surely if a car is not on the mot database then they cant just compare emissions to the nearest model?
