Default STi Type-R - Car Stall

hi all,

just attempted to disconnect my re-circulating pipe from my blow off valve so that to vent the dump to atmosphere, but the car keeps stalling once this is off even when the recirc pipe is blocked off!!!

Ive worked on my previous scoobs and this has never happened! will a dual relief type valve eg. HKS SSQV not cause the stall???

blow off valve at the moment is a forge recirculating, car has a FMIC and blow off is connected of the fmic piping

any help is much appreciated cheers

At a guess I'd say it's because, at idle, you have vacuum acting on the relief side of the valve via the small vac pipe. Maybe a stronger spring will keep it shut.

well, i went to torque developments today for a service and we tried it out, but they recommended a idle stabilizerto keep revs up, ive never installed anything else for a blow off valve in any of my cars except a blow off valve.

might have to get a hks ssqv n try it out
