Question

I really, really want a Scoobysport exhaust system ( backbox, downpipe, de-cat centre ) but I'm not sure about the law regarding the de-cat centre. For example, will my insurance company still cover me? Will it pass it's MOT?

Any general information about this would be much appreciated, cos I'm itching to get one. Can't wait to hear the full-on sound of that boxer engine!!!! Mmmmmmmmmmm.

Tony.

Thumbs up

As far as I'm aware all cars registered new in or after 1993 are legally required to have a cat fitted and pass the emissions test required of a catatylic converter. Cars registered before '93 could have had cats fitted but are not legally required to have them fitted and so could remove them and be tested without.
Anyone stand to correct me?
Hope this helps

ok, anyone got the url for the relevant government site with this info on it?

not sure if it's 93 or 94.

Here's my story.

I havr MY94 WRX Wagon, which did have downpipe cat on it (until wednesday) it had passed MOT previously and I'm told that even now, in it's catless state it should still pass., mainly because it will not show up on the MOT test system as it's jap import, plus V5 says something like 'subaru rigid 2-axle' and not 'impreza turbo'
