Smile buying sti version4 what to look for?

Hi,
i have seen a version 4 sti ,the guy wants £4250.00 is that cheap.also has had some engine work done costing in the region £2000.It drives fine are the gearboxes strong on these cars because i have never had a Subaru b4.
And do the timingbelts have to be changed every 2 years,any help will be appreciated.Thanks

Check the Applied Model Number. If it ends either 48D or 47D then youre being had...

think cambelts are every 50k/5 years on the classics....
make sure you hpi it as its sounds quite cheap for a v4 sti.... any pics of it.?

what do you mean by engine work? If you mean a rebuild then good but only if it was done by a reputable company.

And the cambelt is every 3 yrs or 45K

the model code here and you'll know if its an sti or wrx
