you need to take it to an exhaust place to heat the nut and bolt with a blow torch to expand the metal. Spend a few quid to get it done properly.

I agree, get the people who have the kit to get it done right. That amount of time you will waste you could do some overtime and earn more than they will charge with all the faffing around.

This of course does assume that you are as clueless as I am when it comes to working on cars, and that you don't have any ramps, and don't have access to a blow torch

I did mine - plenty of WD40 and a big hammer!!

New gasket - as the old one always rips apart.

New bolts from a Subaru Main Dealer and smeared in Copperease so that swapping again would be simple

But I do have a 4-post lift

Moffett, if the nuts/bolts are rusted on that badly, then you will probably need to cut them off and start again with new ones and also possibly clamps aswell.

tried doing that myself but could not take the bolts off... the local tyre/exhaust centre flame torched the bolts and put new ones in together with a gasket...£20 all in

Rag soaked in 3in one, wrap round nuts*, leave overnight, or go down the pub for a couple of hours.

*not your nuts, the ones on the exhaust
