How heavy is a gearbox when it's out of a car ???
could it be lifted onto the back of a vehicle by a courier.....thats my main concearn.
50kg and i can get it shipped but it must be able to be placed on the back of a courier van.
any thoughts, strong men, or Couriers who have transported a classic gearbox please.
Thanks
minty.

Depends which box it is, the older five speeders are lighter. But I'd say its still over 50kg
I can carry one, well a five speeder at least. Don't know if anyone else could though

I'm not that strong, just well practiced ; I picked up and carried a new fridge into the house yesterday with no issue (barring its size) and the box for that was stamped as 45kg. From my memory from the last time I handled a scooby gearbox it felt heavier than that, I don't think it will be heavier than 60kg though. Thats not a firm answer though, sorry.
