what's my problem?

iv'e just found my radar detector after clearing out my garage and put it in my evo 6 ( i know i know)and as soon as you switch it on it goes mad(as if there i a radar source close)so i tried it in my wifes golf an it's fine!
what in my car could be giving off radar/laser signal?

that was my thoughts but surely nothing on my alarm(clifford)is active with ignition on and engine running!

hmm,
sounds odd... I've got the number of some people who could well help you with this. Try calling the FB Aaiii, ask for a Mr F.Mulder, if he's not available his assistant, Miss Scully will be. Hope that helps.

i think the kenwood mask is infra-red, so shouldnt affect your detector. but there again -- infra-red/radar are just operating at different frequencies. you could be getting some "leakage" (cant remember the technical term, but 'secondary harmonics' comes into it somewhere!!). have you tried repositioning the detector??
