Default ENGINE BREATHER PLATE

Apparently according to the subaru garage they suspect there is a small leak in the engine breather plate and oils coming out.Is this a major problem or not.....ive been scamed b4 by the garage and dont wana cop out unless it is 100% must do thing.It may not even be the breather plate???

Some with Engine Knoledge Please Help....

what breather plate do you mean,the one that is on top of cam covers?

Probally the Oil Seperator Plate behind the flwheel - the plastic type covers do tend to crack and leak,normally change them for the Aluminium type for a permanant repair.
Could also be the Rear Main Oil Seal on the back end of the crank leaking.

is this a common problem?where would i get a Aluminium replacment.shall i fork out the 700 quid the garage want for this or just leave it?

If it's just a minor problem and they want £700, why not take it elsewhere, franchised dealership or independant specialist and get a second opinion?
