Default Rising petrol price

Is it just down here in S W London or is the price of petrol rising at an alarming rate everywhere?, apprx 1p/ litre /week. Tesco 99 is now 97.8p/ litre in New Malden. Soon be looking back at the good old days of paying less than £1/ litre

*******s. I'm thinking of remapping for 95 octane. No way I'm paying more than a pound a litre.

My car just has PPP fitted, would this require any remapping before using regular 95 fuel?

Your talking about pennies here folks.
Even if fuel goes up by 10p a litre it's only going to cost you an extra £250 a year for 10,000 miles.

(60 litre tank, 240 miles per tank average= 2.5 pence per mile increase)

Subarus are v. expensive to service, tyre, insure and tax. This is just a drop in the ocean....... have you seen how bad the depreciation is?

Probein, putting 95 in will probably leave you running in safe mode. My old WRX with PPP use to hate the stuff. Besides which it's a small saving in fuel against what you have just spent on tuning.

I believe the PPP is mapped to 98 fuel. If you are going to get it remapped for 95 you wasted your money in the first place IMHO.

Anyone care to say WHY it's going up?
I thought oil and gas prices were coming DOWN?

I thought IOM fuel tax was lower, so that overall the price of fuel was not higher than in the UK

We have the same custom & excise rates as the uk, so pay the same duty on fuel but suffer from the extra transport costs, thats why the Shell site in Lancaster is so busy cos when the boat comes in we ALL fill up there and save 10ppl (but at least the duty paid stays on the rock!)

We do however benefit from a MUCH better income tax position, super roads,no upper speed limit (watch the sheep though), and have 600+ miles of roads to play with, and it's SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO laid back here
