I finally bit the bullet this morning to try and fix the much talked about rattle coming from the rear window area.. i very carefully removed seats and plastic side covers etc and removed the dreaded plastic locating pegs completely from the rear windscreen as advised by many from this site... i also removed the black velcro type clip from the centre of the screen as well...After two hours and everything back together perfectely i went for a drive only to discover that f**king b*****d rattle was not only there but even worse..Can any one please help me i am so sick of this rattle my car is a month old and i am considering selling it.. what the f**k could it be it is definatly coming from the rear screen...

Is it a wagon?

If so, wrap 2 layers of insulating tape around the hook which the boot lid latches onto.

Some of the worst rattles I have encountered have been plastic on glass. If its a 4 door try pushing a bit of cardboard under the C pillar plastic panel to force up it tight against the glass. Cured the prob in my 03STi. Another cause could be seat belt reel where there is a little metal peg under the main attachment. Twist the bracket a bit so it can't rattle.

Its a 4 door sl wrx and i am so sick of it.. alot of people on here have sorted the rattle out by doing what i did.. i just cannot believe it is worse now and it is definetly coming from the rear screen.. i think its going to have to come out..

hi mate i had same problem i found it to be where the top of the seat hooks onto the body as when refitting the seat its a little awkward to hook it on properly,i got some foam stuck it to the hook on the seat then hooked the seat back on i had to get my hand down the back of the seat to feed it back in,how u can tell at the top left/right side of the seat bang it with your hand see if it rattles if so do the above hope this helps as it sorted mine

Take it back to the dealers and let them stress over it mate. A rattle does indeed spoil your enjoyment, considering the money we all spend this should not happen.
