While at Prodrive earlier this year, I saw a car (P1, from memory) with neat little mini carbon fibre mud guards fitted behind the front wheels. Really not much more than sill protectors but they looked just the job and pretty trick. Just what my newly painted sills need for winter.

Can anyone tell me (one of the Prodrive guys?) if these are commercially available. From Prodrive? Subaru dealers? Another aftermarket supplier? And some clue on cost would be great!

Much thanks.

They are not actually available separately (yet?) They are to go with the 18" wheels to help prevent stone damage down the side of the car.

Mike,

So not Commercially available yet ....but is there a likelyhood that existing P1 owners, with std 17 inch wheels might be able to get their hands on them?

Cheers

Thumbs up

yo hoppy

think i've seen exactly what you mean from GGR that sit on the sill behind the front wheels and in front of and behind the rears.

looks like they need to be colour-coded - but they looked curvaceous and v. smart on the scoob i saw there shod with them when they repaired my badger-strike.

Question

Indeed Mr Wood,

What's the chance of them being available for the impoverished P1 owners with the standard 17" wheels?

Josh

PS Probably get a rough deal from my insurance broker though

Due to the overwhelming demand the stone deflectors will be in stock at Subaru UK within the week for fitment to any Impreza. These are actually made from the same material as the WRC cars and come in a fetching shade of black to suit all body colours.

Contact your Dealer in a couple of days and ask for 2 x SACC2145.

Question

Mike,

I'm curious as to what material would merit the description of 'a fetching shade of black'?

Cheers young man
Josh

PS Any idea how they will be priced?

Rum, I don't know what you mean !!!!!

Rubber!!!!!

Let's not go there as that's a whole new topic!

They are a flexible plastic material which we use for all or WRC mud flaps, the only difference is the colour.

Price will be £8.50 +vat each

skipjack, I think you mean the sill extensions that have been around for a while. The little fellas that I've seen are like tiny mud guards.

Mike,

I would assume that for that price Mr Lapworth will be installing them personally!

I've got sill extensions i think, though they act exactly the same as mudguards.

MTR.

Did you see that £8.50 plus VAT each! You're in the wrong job mate!
Get a load made up at the weekend you could knock 'em out at a tenner a pair and retire to the Beehamas on the strength of it!

Better not tell the wife though!!!

Oh, come to think of it, they'll probably invalidate the warranty.

God it can only get better.

Sorry Mike on joking, but its good to see that Subaru do listen to what we the customers want.

Mr Wood

On the subject of 18" wheels - can you throw any light on where mine have got to? Ordered in May. Paid for in September when I took delivery of my car.

What is the cause of the delays. I've heard all sorts including a rumour today that the delivery has been put back a further 6 months! Ahhhhh!!

Many thanks. It's much appreciated that you replied. But....With respect, that's what I was told;

Beginning September
Mid September
End of September
Now.............

In the meanwhile, my original wheels and tyres now have 4k on them and are dropping in value weekly.

I'll speak to my dealer about getting the interest back on the 2k he's been sitting on for the last 5 weeks.

Many Thanks
Kurt

Kevin,
I didn't actually pay for them, they came with the car? Quite a few things came with the car which weren't standard. I didn't find this out for a few months after. Still all the better for me i guess

They are imminent and the delivery has not been delayed 6 months but should be within the next 2 weeks.

Rang my dealer up today about these Prodrive mudguards - they said the part number doesn't exist? They also looked on the 'IM computer' and couldn't see them either??

Light to be shed??

They are in stock at Subaru under the part number quoted. Several have been sold already so you should have no problem ordering them.

Mike,

First of all, I'm sure we all appreciate your taking the trouble to comment on such trivial matters. Ta Muchly.

Creep over...Now the winge!

I've had a pair on order with Listers since you posted the part number. Unfortunately the only ones they've seen are the ones they received with a set of Gold 18's, and they haven't got a clue when they'll get any.

Is there a supply problem, or has Pete done something to upset you?

Cheers

Gary, Josh, Peter, Mike and Others,

I have just had a call from my dealers and they have advised that they received the little blighters in their stock delivery this afternoon...

The part number that Mike advised last month is correct...so if you have already ordered they should be on the way...if you haven't ordered there are still plenty available..

Once they are fitted I'll post a pic!

Cheers

Confusion over, they couldn't find anything on the part number, nor under 'mudflaps'.

HOWEVER - they are there under 'stoneguards'! Pair ordered and should be ready to be fitted on Saturday
