Default Car Park Cretin

Got my first dent this week.

Wife came back to car park and the attendant came up and said someone had reported a car bashing into mine.

Apparently they tried to park along side but only succeeded in in stoving in the front wing.

They then buggered off and parked on the other side of the car park.

The person that saw it passed on their Reg to the attendant. So thank you whoever you are. I expect they will probably deny everything though.

Bodyshop say it will probably need a new wing as there are two dents and he doesn't think he can get them out without it being noticeable.

There goes my excess and NCD. Worse things happen at sea I suppose.

First of all, wings are dirt cheap secondly, dont wash your wing, if there is any paint from the other car in there it can be matched to that make and model third, you have an eye witness, and fourth, its an offence to leave the scene of an accident plus failing to report that accident, so basically you just have to apply a bit of pressure and i feel they dont want several points on their licence

Had the car repaired now and looks as good as new.

The **** who caused the damage, apparently does not deny being in the car park on that day and also does not deny damaging my car but says that he has no recollection of doing so. Lying barsteward.

If he can cause that amount of damage and not realise it he should have his licence removed, or at least inserted somewhere where the sun don't shine.

The insurance company say without the witness address they can do nothing more.

Looks like he has got away with it, whereas I've lost £230 excess and my NCB.

As they say, Sh*t happens.

Join the club mate. Exactly the same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago in a car park. Over £1000 of damage to rear quarter panel and bumper. The f...er that did it drove off leaving no details and me £250 worse off and increased insurance to boot. Happy days.

My mother in law had her car damaged in a supermarket car park, and as with your case the b*****d just moved to another bay, the security guard pointed him out to her when she challenged him he refused to give his details and said it's private property and there was nothing she could do about it, so she phoned the police and they agreed they could do nothing, so she had to foot the bill for the damage to her car, so if it ever happens to me i will ram the b*****d's motor knowing that the police and his insurance company can do nothing.

........I sometimes wonder if it's worth all the trouble . . . . . I mean its frustrating . .So you will spend anything up to a grand on the repair, only to have some other burke put another one . .

My point is , that my car is not a museum piece . .

Answers on a postcard . .

Have you not got protected NCD? Still no excuse for leaving though the selfish tosser. A couple of years back my wife rammed the EVO into a rover on Tesco's car park, I waited an hour and still no one came, so I went in the store and they read the reg No out. Turned out to be a member of their staff!!! Still cost me nothing as I have protected NCD and it will be off in March next year anyway..

Do you know his address?

I was going to suggest pouring brake fluid over his car, but that type don't usually give a **** about their motors anyway

I would be highly tempted to see if I could revive his memory with the use of a blunt instrument though

My insurance company would only protect my no claims after 2 years.

This happened with only 3 months to go, so it looks like I will have to start again.

Insurance company won't give me his address.

It's only a Y reg Pug estate anyway, so not worth the cost of the brake fluid.
