Default HELP:EUROPEAN IMPORT WARRANTY

I have a new european import wrx and need a small warranty job done but the local dealer says that the cars chasis number has to be on the subaru uk database or they wont get paid for job...but the importer i bought it from says that is rubbish and once i have the service book you can get it done at any dealer..:wonder..Has anyone had an issue like this and if so who is right..any help would be welcomed..

I had a MY02 WRX from Belgium and when i got it i had to register the car with IM.(Basically Subaru UK).

I was told from the start that i had to do this, not sure if its still true now. that was 5 years ago.

So is it just a matter of contacting subaru uk and giving them my cars details ie the chasis number etc and then bobs your uncle...???

No harm in trying, they will be able to direct you to the right department though, i also remember having to phone them up to confirm the had received my registration in writing as they never acknowledged it.

Good luck mate.
