Hi all,

happy Christmas to all.

I'm slowly acquiring parts to upgrade the from of my 1993 WRX jap. import.

So far I have all I have got is the 1998 front bumper (a few scuffs and the
usual stone chips)
Fitted with a STi4 3pc front lip spoiler & a Set clear indicators, & grill,
Lights are not a problem as I'm going to get a set of morretts.

Now for the questions

Bonnet, I like the shape of the new bonnets & I need it so that it fits the
lights correctly, but the scoop, I know its wrong for earlier cars, shape,
position, air flow over the inter cooler & the turbo chimney, is there a kit
to change this air flow properties, or do I just leave it as is & suffer hot
spots ??

Has anyone else done this upgrade if so what did you do ??
Front Number plate, anyone know if its legal to put a plate on the lip
spoiler rather than hanging in the usual place in front of the radiator ?

Sorry for so many questions.

Cheers

i have nearly completed my front end facelift.

Bonnet was being sprayed up today. I too am a little worried about the ducting but may try to make some up for the intercooler

I got my parts from Midland Impreza , good blokes , did me a good deal

Question

I don't know the solution to the intercooler issue, but if your budget will stretch further have you considered looking at having a front mounted intercooler?

I fitted the facelift front end a few months back now and have been woundering what to do about the intercooler ducting ever since. Still not reached a definate conclusion but for now im just gonna use some aluminium and do a bit of a DIY duct (as Adam M did). I do have plans for a FMIC when i've got enough funds for the LINK ECU etc.

If you come up with a bright idea in the mean time let me know (you'd think someone out there would have manufactured a new duct to screw to the underside of the bonnet, i wouldn't mind spending a bit of money on it either!)

Tony.

Lumpy ???? its Lumby, the engine quite often sound lumpy though!

I paid approx £500 for bonnet, grille £90ish , and i paid £180 for spraying. Plus i have paid £100 for some second hand later headlamps which i am still awaiting to complete the facelift.

hope that helps .

What have you all done with your old bonnets, a customer of mine has been in a bit of an accident and needs a new pre-facelift bonnet (alu if possible), would you sell?
Please email me if so.
Thanks and merry christmas, Rob.

Barge

pattern bonnets are cheaper I know , but you dont get the scoops and vents and all the ancillaries for the underside , I reckon i got a good deal. The second hand bonnet fitted like a glove so no complaints there either.

The scoops alone cost a fortune new.
