Spec C vs 911 turbo ...
No not a race
911T pulled alongside me today (not a new one, would guess the previous version) on M25, both doing about 60mph. He blipped his throttle a few times, looked at me then zoomed off. Fairly fast BTW Could I have kept up if I wanted to?
My car is a MY05 Spec C running about 375bhp & same torque.

it has 35 more hp as standard, more if it had porsche's version of the ppp, weigh roughly the same at 1300kg, more slippery body. Hands down to the porsche. They really are ballistic cars.

Must have been your visor getting in the way robocop.
Spec C - great car. You'd think a modern "911" turbo would do the business once the two really got going. Might take a pretty skilled 911 driver to pull away on the bends though - reckon your average driver couldn't.

Tried having bit fun with one in my old MY01 WRX and it totally obliterated me! Left for dead by a bloke prob kicking on retirement age. Prompted me to get my STI 8 PPP which scared a few non turbo Porkers. Would reckon 375bhp should worry a 911 Turbo up to 110-120 then the aerodynamics of the Scoob would pull it back.

Remember the new and recent 911T's are 4 x 4 too.
Many of us have driven fast Impreza's and very few 911's of any sort let alone the turbo, so much of this is conjecture?
My 911 experience is of 19 years of ownership and racing it too, but it is very old and very light (230 bhp/tonne) and my Impreza is 291bhp/tonne. The Sti is miles faster in all respects which is why it is 'retired'
The secret is all in the power to weight, and in this episode the Spec C and the turbo are quite close, for the 911 = 290 bhp/tonne (I think Banni is right with the power and weight, the 99T is very heavy).
When all is said and done there is the performance/£ to consider.
The 911T is 3 x the Spec C or a first house for my daughter...
You don't buy a 911T to chase Impreza's do you?
You buy a Spec C to chase 'fast' cars? Maybe, depends on your attitude.
People buy both because they love them!
You pay your money, and you take your choice. As ever.

Time to pull up a chair sit back, get the popcorn out and enjoy the show
Terminator - fair play for being original ''Car still cold as only left car park a few mins previous'' not heard that one used before''
Nor have I ever had a car come alongside me slow down to my pace, blip it's throttle a couple of times and shoot off

Yes but the guy with the 911 will earn more money than you. Have a bigger house than you. He'll no doubt have a prettier girlfriend than you (money attracts prettier women) and as said above. He probably didn't buy hit 911 to race Tuned Impreza's.
Plus he won't sound like a Geek when asked what car he drives. Which sound better to the opposite sex?
911 Turbo
or
Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec C tuned to run 375BHP and the same Torque figure.
Having these cars that can put up a fight to more expensive sports cars are all well and good. However, I'd rather earn his money and have the Porsche, Than say my car can stay with it to 120mph.

Some good points but...
A bigger house - If so will be with his parents or if his will be some pokey 1 bed flat that he calls an apartment.
Said 911 Turbo is financed up to the hilt via a remortgage and a loan over twenty years.
Bought this because he has a little d*** and is crap in bed and feels he has something to prove.
Pretty girlfriend stays with him because of image of Porker and being a trophy girlfriend yet bonks his best mate who owns a Mondeo due to point above.
Spec C or 911 Turbo
You tell me
Nah, 911 turbo it is
