Default Price on a full respray for a classic - anyone done this?

Hi

Currently car is Dark Green. It has minor damage.
What is the ballpark going rate for a full respray. From a decent outfit.

I would want it in Dark Blue Metalic.

Anyone had their classic resprayed - recently?

Thanks all

Are you talking about a bare metal respray.

£2000 would be a good price if you were to strip the car yourself.

Hmm, green to blue isnt hard to cover up so £2000 is close, but it all depends on.....

climate
location
mates rates etc etc etc the list is endless.

budget £2000 - £3000 cant go wrong then, or instead, but the blue one u want !

I had a wagon painted last year for £500
I stripped it down for him and put new panels on, he prepped and painted it.
Wasnt done in an oven or anything but it was a pretty good finish.

the fact the car was not painted in a oven dose not always mean the paint used was not top notch stuff! i worked for brian stevens classic cars and the painter there has no oven and at an average of £6000 to respray a e type and as much as £18000 to paint a big lagonda believe me the paint was far from sub standard i would pay more thought to the man with the gun in his hand! and other work already done as proof of his skill
