No it's not worth a lot more. It's been valued at a lot more.
It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I have placed about 5 plates with dealers and never had any enquiries

The plate is
worth £344... It maybe that a broker has told you it's worth lots before they have buyer lined up to hook you into the concept of selling... They can then market your plate, increasing their client bank etc...
The DVLA is the best place to look for like for like plates to tell you what a plate is actually worth. They are the benchmark in reg plate valuations.
I went online and had a play yesterday and found the appx value of mine based on similar plates being available...
If someone wants to spend more than £344 on it, happy days, the seller will be creaming cash of the vulnerable. HTH
