JDMs also dont have the "burble" if thats the thing about Impreza's that floats your boat

 

If your thinking about importing your own anything less than 10 years old has alot more work involved to get it useable on UK roads and so means more money.

I would buy standard and modify how i want and still have some money left over from the difference, with more power etc.

WR1's are nice, if you like that colour and they hold the money better.

 

Be aware a 2002 JDM STi is completely different to the 2003+ STi's

As above only downside I can see is burble is muted due to equal length headers and twin scroll turbo.

 

i was in the same boat, my mate has a STI UK and i really wanted one.

after some research it came to light that the JDM cars are superior in everyway.

I would go to someone like PCM or Lithcfields, give them you budget etc and let them see what they can do for you.

I did, and PCM have an 03 Spec-c on its way to me!!

I'll second that. My MY04 JDM STI V-Limited (6th one down on the website) is landing in the country on Friday. Should be picking her up 2 weeks after that. Immy from PCM has been exellent in every way throughtout the whole process.
