Spec D deals and may get another Subaru - what do you think?
It's been over 1.5 years since I sold my 2003 WRX PPP and bought a 996. I now need full sized rear seats, rear doors and there seem to be a few deals with unregistered Spec D's at the moment for circa £20k.
1) Anyone have a spec D or 2.5 STi and doesn't like it - why, what's wrong with it?
2) What noticeable difference does the PPP make to performance, mild or a definite worthwhile gain?
3) Are insurance companies happy to cover it (I had lot's of hassle with my WRX because it was 'modified' and many companies withdrew cover).
4) What do people think of the spec D - I'm all for silver wheels and a smaller spoiler.
5) What's the best deal at the moment; anyone beat £20k for a new dealership supplied car?
Was going to wait for the 2008 model but the Autocar pics last week made it look so ugly I couldn't ever desire one.
Many thanks

I only picked mine up on Saturday so not of much help with 1 & 2 but...
3) Yes insurance companies are perfectly happy as it's a legit Subaru model and has not been modified.
4) I love it, not into the big spoiler/gold wheels/lairy interior. Much prefer the wolf in sheeps clothing attitude
5) Gavin at Ian Grieves in Falkirk was offering Scoobynet members a £1k discount 3 or 4 weeks ago on unregistered cars, £19995. I'd be surprised if you get 1 for less than that (assuming there are any around
